ISPI-EMEA website uses technical cookies, which can be used without user’s consent because strictly necessary to the provision of service, as well as third party analytics cookies provided by Google Analytics. By using our website and agreeing to this policy, you consent to our use of cookie in accordance with the terms of this policy.

About Cookies

A Cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser makes a page request to a server.

By browsing this website, the user can receive also cookies sent by different websites or servers – so called “third parties”. This happens when on these latter websites or servers reside some elements already present on the website actually being browsed by the user (e.g. pictures, sounds, maps, specific links to other webpages or domains).

Types of cookies

Cookies can be divided in the following categories:

1) Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used with the only scope of allowing a correct browsing and utilization of the website. Without such cookies the website, or parts of it, could not properly work. Therefore, they are always used, regardless the preferences of the user. This category of Cookies includes both ‘persistent’ cookies and ‘session’ cookies.
Technical Cookies can be subdivided in:
– Navigation and session cookies
– Functional cookies
– Analytics cookies

Navigation and session cookies guarantee the correct browsing and utilization of the website. For instance, they allow the authentication and access to reserved areas.
Functional cookies allow the user to browse the website activating specific functions and selecting certain criteria, such as language, in order to improve the service provided.
Analytics cookies are used to gather anonymous and aggregated information about the utilization of the website, and about the activities of the users (e.g. the number of users connected and the pages visited). ISPI-EMEA uses such information for statistical analysis, to improve the website and simplify its use, and to monitor the correct working of it.

2) Profiling Cookies
The Profiling cookies allow gathering information about the use of the website by the single user, creating specific users’ profiles. They are frequently used for promotional scopes and for advertising banners. Given their particular invasive objective, which affects users’ privacy, it is requested that users should be adequately informed on their use and could express their consent or refuse to their utilization. ISPI-EMEA doesn’t use profiling cookies.

Analytics by Google Analytics

ISPI-EMEA uses a WordPress plugin that install Google Analytics on the website and brings Google Analytics reports into the website. Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

ISPI-EMEA has activated the IP anonymization function on the plugin to ensure an anonymized collection of visitors’ IP address. That means that Google will truncate/anonymize the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP address is sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA.

On behalf of ISPI-EMEA, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to ISPI-EMEA. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. By an appropriate setting on your browser, you may refuse the use of cookies. However, please note that, if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

We will not link IP addresses to anything else personally identifiable.

You can prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB.

YouTube and Vimeo videos, embedded content

In order to be able to watch the YouTube, Vimeo and other embedded content on the websites, YouTube will set cookies. Read YouTube or Vimeo privacy policy to see how they process the data they collect.

Social Media buttons

By using share buttons, social media platforms may set cookies on your computer and, if you have subscribed to a social media platform, track your usage of the site, unless you have disabled or deactivated the acceptance and storage of cookies in your browser settings.

We have no control over the cookies that social media platforms set when you use their services. Please read Facebook, Linkedin, Google+, Reddit, Twitter’s or other network’s privacy statement (which can change often) to read what they use your personal details for by using these cookies.

The User can manage the settings related to Cookies directly within their own browser and stop – for instance – third parties from installing them. It is also possible, through browser’s settings, to delete Cookies previously installed. For further information on cookies and on how to set cookie preferences (first and/or third party cookies) please visit the platform www.youronlinechoices.com. Through this service it is possible to manage tracking preferences of most advertising tools. ISPI-EMEA therefore suggests to the users the utilization of such resource in addition to the information provided by the present document. Once again, be aware that disabling navigation or functional cookies may cause bad functioning of the website.
